Halloween

Christmas, easter, april fools, Halloween, all have pagan roots, but that makes them no less legitimate catholic holidays. You know they had temples, religious texts, worship, faith and god before Christianity right? Does that invalidate churches, the Bible, worship and faith as well?  

The crowds were thick down both sides of Main Street for what ended up being one of the warmest Miracle on Main Street parades to date Friday night. Among the crowds was Mike and Kim McCoy, of Coshocton, and their son Ahyden, 9, who came to watch their daughter in the parade. "We enjoy coming to the parade every year and watching out daughter, who's in Miss Jennifer's," Kim McCoy said.

Halloween is thought to be a children's holiday, an invitation for pint-size marauders to dress up in fantasy costumes and scurry about the neighborhood collecting tricks and treats. But the delights of the holiday are not confined to the junior set. Zombie's fourth solo studio album — and the sequel to his 1998 solo debut — was originally slated to come out this week. But he said he felt "the basic structure of releasing a record" was not adequately in place for the project. "Basically, the label [Geffen] wasn't really in a position to promote it or deal with it," Zombie explained.

Holiday music plays in every building I enter, new yard decorations are displayed on store shelves, free-shipping incentives pop up on every Web site and an empty checkbook in my purse - yep, it's Christmas.
